Our Wheels of Lull
Inspired by instrumental Hip-Hop and Jazz, my 4-track project Our Wheels of Lull was released in January of 2022 after 2 years of intense interest in music theory, production, and sampling.
The pianos and chord progressions on the tracks are all original arrangements by me, under the artist name “Mrah,” and they feature samples of Lavender Antonyraj’s amazing saxophone playing.
Click the EP cover on the right, drawn and designed by me (with inspiration from from @micah_ulrich), to listen to the four tracks:
“Godspeed”
“Psyche” Feat. Lavender Antonyraj
“Mascarillas”
“Fracasar” Feat. Lavender Antonyraj
The name and art of the project were inspired by the “Wheels of Lull” from the graphic novel C0DA by Elder Scrolls writer and weird-lore-god Michael Kirkbride. The wheels are the exposed earthbones of the destroyed Nirn, the planet’s “underlying skeleton of ghostly gears.” Our Wheels of Lull was created entirely during the pandemic. What ghostly gears did that crisis expose in each of us?
